Welcome to iKarolina Gluten-Free, Suga-Free, Low Fat, and Macro friendly based website. I’m Karolina, I started this blog about 3 years ago halfway through 2019 to share my macro-friendly and gluten-free recipes that I was developing at home.
About 4 years ago I started my health and body transformation journey, by weight lifting, changing my eating habits, and focusing more on food intolerance like gluten and lactose. Also by tracking my macros and reducing the sugar intake I started to be able to lose fat without gaining it back again. And since then I’ve been developing recipes that are Gluten-Free, Sugar-Free, Low Fat, High in Protein, and Macro Friendly. Which has helped me to live a sustainable lifestyle.
Most of the recipes that you will find in this blog are recipes inspired by staple foods. My niche has always been macro-friendly, gluten-free, flexible dieting, or unrestrictive eating. For this reason, you will find macronutrient breakdowns in every recipe.
When we see or read healthy recipes people (including me ) get excited. However healthy is a tricky word that can mean different things to different people. In this blog, healthy means low-calorie recipes, that are sugar-free and low-fat, and sometimes low-carb (not very often). Those calories are pulled out from useless carbs like sugar that are not entirely beneficial for our health, but somewhat we need them in our lives. As well as healthy fats, but not to the point to compete with carbs as a source of energy.
Nonetheless, this blog is focused on Gluten-Free and Macro-Friendly recipes, you still will find recipes wheat-based, or contain dairy, and some sugar, because my husband and stepdaughters have no gluten intolerance, and not all dairy has lactose and we still need some spectacles of sugar in our lives.
Wrapping things up with a few fun facts about me, I was born and raised in Venezuela, South America. So I love food with flavour. My husband Rod is Irish, and both are into fitness and weight lifting, and we love and enjoy eating. Now we are starting our greenhouse to live a more sustainable life.
